Lazy Summer Eves

Lately, after dinner during the week, we can't help but be beckoned outside, with the sun still warming the sidewalk and the scent of lavender in the air. To Lauren's delight, Mama has not been strictly enforcing bedtime, instead opting to lounge on a patch of grass (okay, said greenery belongs to our very generous neighbors), and watch her energizer bunny of a daughter jump, play, dance, sing - really, just demonstrate how to wholeheartedly suck the marrow out of life.

And as the summer light began to wane, Lauren debuted her grand finale. With a fallen piece of bark from one of our palm trees, she announced that she was going surfing. Yes, she is her father's daughter.
