Dance Recital 2011

Saturday afternoon was Lauren's big recital. She started her pre-Jazz/Hop class in February and from day 1, they worked on their routine. She was among the youngest and smallest in the class, but what she may have lacked in experience, she more than made up for in enthusiasm.

Pre-show, our little dancer exuded confidence. She was ready to go.

And while no cameras or video recorders were allowed in the theatre on show day, I did get some shots during last week's dress rehearsal to provide just a flavor of the group's energy.

Mid-routine, running toward some formation known only to them.

Of course Lauren had a full cheering section. My parents, Kristen and Zack joined us and contributed to the thunderous applause (sadly, Lauren's Nanni and Pop-Pop Paul were supposed to attend, but had to postpone their trip - we certainly missed them).

Post-performance, our girl emerged triumphant from the stage door.

Where she was greeted with flowers, a stuffed sheep, and a whole bag of Ring Pops (to be doled out over the course of many months, mind you).

Not to mention exuberant gestures of love and affection.

We are so very, very proud of you, our tiny dancer.
