Marriage Minded

Marriage has been a popular topic of discussion around here lately. Nanny Jackie is getting married this weekend so we have been privy to some of the planning and excitement surrounding her special day.

Guess who has been the biggest fan of all things white and wedding? Not too difficult to figure it out. Case in point: after Lauren went to bed a couple of nights ago, Norm and I returned to the family room to find this scene painstakingly enacted on our ottoman:



Yes, as Lauren later advised, that's none other than Cinderella and Prince Charming during their ceremony while their "guests" observed. The stepsisters and wicked stepmother don't appear too happy about the whole shebang. And the other Cinderella hanging out in the back? As explained matter-of-factly by the child who proclaims to know everything, it's Cinderella's twin sister. Hmmm. She must have been inadvertently left out of the fairytale. Maybe she'll be making an appearance in the sequel.

Yesterday was Jackie's last day for a couple of weeks so she could enjoy visiting family before the wedding and a brief honeymoon afterwards. Lauren insisted on showing the bride-to-be how to properly pose on the big day:
