One or the Other

Here's today's belly laugh inducing tale, courtesy of our budding smart aleck:

Tonight before heading to dinner with my parents, Lauren was pretending to sleep in her big girl bed. Nana asked if she was going to sleep in the bed tonight, and Lauren shook her head "no". Nana then asked Lauren whether she wanted to go to school, and of course, Lauren said "yes." "Well", Nana said, children that go to school also sleep in their big beds. If you stay in your crib, you must not be big enough to go to school. You can either stay in your crib and not go to school, or sleep in your big bed and go to school." Lauren proceeded to watch her with her eyes wide open as Nana was speaking in a very serious tone. Nana said "Lauren, it's either one or the other, which is it?" To which Lauren seriously replied: "The other." Try as I might, I couldn't keep a straight face and burst out laughing, which resulted in a little smirk on Lauren's face. So I'm sure she definitely will be adding that one to her repertoire.
