Lauren was playing dress up in her princess Halloween costime when Jim the pool guy came to clean the pool last week. Of course she had to run out back to say hi and engage in conversation, but not before Mommy bundled her up in her warmest coat, mittens and slippers. The sun may have been out, but it was at most 45 degrees:

The next night Lauren wanted to go out front to see our holiday lights. This year we sprung and hired someone to wrap some of our palms in little lights. We also added a twinkling Frosty the Snowman, plus some gold stars hanging from the entry chandelier, and a big Shalon sign on the door, and our holiday decor was complete!

At some point in your life, you probably thought that people in my neck of the woods live in igloos or rode polar bears to school, right?
