To celebrate, Lauren requested a fairy party. Our home was turned into Katz Hollow, punctuated by streamers . . . . .

And plenty 'o balloons . . . . . .

Invitations beckoned little girls to don their favorite fairy costumes, wings and all. Lauren, of course, chose to be none other than Tinkerbell:

The party kicked off with a huge surprise for Lauren. The doorbell rang and she opened it to be greeted by . . . . . . .

Tinkerbell!!

Of course, you can't get anything past this child. While she was thrilled to have her there, Lauren was also suspicious. As she confided in us, "I don't think it's actually Tinkerbell." When asked why she would say that, her response? "Because Tinkerbell is supposed to be really small."
One by one, the other little fairies began to arrive:

Big Tink painted faces and hands:

Then gathered the girls for a magical game:

When it was time for Tinkerbell to leave, the girls flitted off to find their next adventure:

Which included the birthday girl practicing her flying skills:

After lunch, excitement began to build for the live show set up in the living room - Kids Imagine Nation. Lauren saw the group perform at a friend's birthday party last fall and fell in love with their original songs, dancing, and effervescent personalities.
Meet Beatz, Aaron and Rachel:

The girls took their places on the couch, giddy with anticipation:

Once the high energy show began, they rose to their feet, still somewhat trepidatious:

Then the performers kicked it up a notch:

Suffice it to say the little fairies quickly became enchanted:

And incredibly engaged:

The performers were so entertaining that they managed to hold the attention of a house full of 3 and 4 year-olds for 45 minutes! How did they manage to do it? With moves like this:

And this:

Before closing out the show, they brought the birthday girl up to the front for a special song and dance:

Lauren, of course, basked in the attention:

Following 45 minutes of kids jumping up and down like crazy, it was time to pump them all full of sugar, aka birthday cake:

Alas, after a few short hours, it was time for our fairy friends to leave, but not before Lauren personally distributed goody bags filled with magic fairy dust and packets of wildflower seeds:

We walked them out into the sunshine (Lauren even chased most down to the end of the driveway to wave a final goodbye):

Then it was back inside to open the abundance of gifts so generously given by everyone who attended:

What a magical day!

Thanks for stopping by . . . . . .
