Adventure City

Photobucket

Yesterday Lauren and I had a girls' day out and went to a pretty cool kid's amusement park in Anaheim. Call it "Disneyland Lite" for tikes. While the facility may have seen better days, it was still enchanting for any child under age 6. There are 12 rides (including several that are definitely geared for bigger kids), a petting zoo, carousel, magic and puppet shows, and train. Plus there really wasn't more than a 5-10 minute wait for anything - score!

Some snapshots of our afternoon . . . . . .

Waiting for the puppet show:

It was actually kinda cute and funny (if only it lasted longer than 10 minutes)

Don't ask me the name of this character because I have no clue, but Lauren still ran over like a bat out of hell to give her(it?) a hug:

Some of the cool rides Lauren was too scared to go on . . . . .

Airplanes (I kept explaining this was no different than the Dumbo ride at Disneyland, but she wasn't buying it):

Adventure Bus Ride (I sooo wanted to go on this, darn):

Balloon ride (this sucker spun so unbelievably fast, even I was terrified):

Despite her reservations about a number of the attractions, don't worry, there was still plenty for Lauren to do. In fact, she got to try her hand at a number of different career paths . . . . . .

Equestrienne:

And last but not least . . . . . .

Adventure City now ranks above Pretend City, the Discovery Science Center, the Santa Ana Zoo and Boomers on Lauren's wish list of fun places to visit. Looks like we'll be going back soon.
