Doctor in the House

For months now, Lauren has loved her little toy medical kit we got for her, constantly giving us examinations with the stethoscope, taking our temperature, giving us shots ("just a pinch"), and looking in our ears with whatever that piece of equipment is called (can you tell I'm not a member of the family that went to medical school?). Well, while spending quality time with Mommy shopping on the day after Thanksgiving, we hit up Tuesday Morning (a great discount store), and found the BEST item ever (at least in her eyes) . . . . . . a dress up doctor lab coat!!! Of course we had to get it, and upon arriving home and slipping into the garment, Lauren announced that she wanted to be referred to as "Doctor Lauren". Now all of her stuffed animals and dolls have been receiving checkups and shots (amazing how they all got sick at once!). We would like nothing more than for her to follow in the footsteps of her Uncles Greg and Sal - it's about time we had a female doctor in the family! We're just thinking positive thoughts that she'll be getting an academic scholarship to medical school . . . . . . . .
