Her latest pastel compositions from art class (the Gluck Method).......

Her entry for my firm's holiday card design contest (Theme: "What the holidays mean to me"):

Putting her sketching skills into practice by drawing portraits of everyone at a recent get-together with Joe's family to celebrate a visit from his 89-year-old Uncle Garo from Paris:
She took her commissions very seriously.....

Well, not exactly.........

Delighting the guest of honor with her work:

2. Girl Power
I love how girly she is right now and how she will sit still for 40 minutes, quietly reading a book, while I curl her thick, lustrous head of hair. Then she will spend 15 minutes twirling and admiring the finished result in the mirror.

Brings back memories of my mom using a curling iron on my hair for that oh-so-fashionable Farrah Fawcett feathered hair look. Burned scalp included.
And how much she enjoys dressing up.
Whether it be for a play date at home.........

Or an evening out on the town with her mama..........

3. Family Time
We had my parents over for brunch recently and it was fabulous.

Beyond more meals together, still on my to-do list with them in the next month or so? Golf with dad and a girls' weekend away with mom.
4. Homemade Popcorn
By that I mean getting away from the microwave and popping kernels in oil over the stove (followed by a movie of course).

Such a sight to behold. In fact, I could hang out and admire, er, watch it being done for hours on end......

5. Summer School
I love that for 6 weeks during her summer break, 3 hours a day, she happily goes to summer school, where she is keeping fresh her reading, writing and math skills. She's expanding her comfort zone by attending a school close to the house where she did not know a soul, but has made new friends and is learning new skills.
Plus she has a pretty rad homework partner.

6. Four Uninterrupted Days of Vacation
With him. In Santa Fe. Gargantuan post coming soon.
