The studio was celebrating 20 years of recitals, and each performance was inspired by a routine from the past.

Pre-performance, she warmed up and hung out by the largest body of water we could find.

Then it was off to the auditorium for the afternoon show.

Of course, we were there super early. How early? Early enough to set up for the concessions. My experiment running the souvenir concessions for The Nutcracker was such a success, the studio director apparently anointed me the concessions queen for every studio dance event from here on out.
Luckily there's a big strong guy, who also happens to be a very good sport, who was more than willing to help out.

With the assistance of plenty of donations, we were stocked with all manner of sweets and beverages. At $1 each, it made for easy transactions and a solid business before the performance and during both intermissions.

Of course Norm was there to support his princess.

Along with Nana and Pop-Pop Mark, who came bearing the cutest puppy-inspired flower arrangement.

We weren't allowed to use cameras during the recital, but rest assured she was a star and shone brightly throughout the performance (not to mention it looked like she was having a ton of fun).
Afterwards she was greeted with tons of love.

Including from former ballet buddy Virginia, who stopped out to pursue gymnastics, but surprised us by attending the show.

We then headed to downtown Fullerton to feed our exuberant yet hungry ballerina a quick meal of burgers and fries.

So proud of you Lauren Jade!
