You Can't Stop the Beat

This past week Lauren was in musical theater camp at The Performer's Academy in Laguna Woods. The kids began camp on Monday, had to audition with 30 seconds of a song on Tuesday, were assigned parts Tuesday afternoon, and then had until Friday afternoon to learn their lines, songs and dance moves before the performance that night.

The musical this week was "Hairspray" and Lauren insisted she attend since she knew the main song from our Glee soundtrack. So be it. I was initially worried about the long days (9 a.m. - 3 p.m.) and the fact that she didn't know a soul there (plus I was going to be out of town until the show), but she was a trooper and really thrived.

Armed with flowers and gifts, my mom, Norm and I sat in the crowded performance space and watched in awe as our little performer absolutely came alive on that stage.
Norm took some video but I couldn't wait to share my pics, set of course to her favorite song in the show.
