Beginning with Lauren's favorite new activity.
Good, old-fashioned roller-skating.

Padded to the hilt, she was relatively fearless given it was only her second time on her skates, and the first time was limited to the entryway in front of my parents' house. I tried to hold her hand, but she wasn't having any of it.

Her bravado quickly faded, though, as she began to lose her balance.

Prompting her unpadded little bottom to befriend the asphalt.

A few tears later and she was back on her feet, triumphant and ready to go again.

With renewed confidence, she skated around the culdesac and was soon joined by baby Sia, our 18-month-old next door neighbor.
On her bike.

[Poppin' a wheelie with her dad's help]
Of course Lauren insisted on helping Sia ride that thing, skates and all.

Prompting yet another victory pose.

Love, love, love the heart in that girl.
