Layers

Our weather has been crazy for the past week. I've done the early morning drive to school all week and we're lucky if the thermometer is approaching 44 degrees. Brrr!! By the time school lets out in the afternoon, however, it's been upwards of 80. Mother Nature just can't seem to make up her mind as to whether it's winter or summer.

Careful wardrobe planning during these extreme temperature differences has been essential. I swear that some kids arrive to school each day in short shorts. Unless they just moved here from Minnesota and have a high tolerance for the cold, I just don't understand that. My solution has been to dress Lauren in layers, i.e. a short-sleeved dress with leggings, a long sleeve sweater, and a jacket on top of that. One morning even required a hat and mittens (I kid you not).

Good thing she has plenty of options to choose from, including this hand-knitted sweater made for her by her Nanni.

Just check out her self-imposed hip thrust. She's stylin' and she knows it. Oh yes she does. Go Lauren, Go Lauren ..........
