Teenage Foreshadowing

Oh, the joys of a 5-year-old. Really loving this age. Sweet, innocent, a girly girl to her core, always bedecked from head to toe in multi-shades of pink, and adorned with ruffles and bows.

I so plan to treasure this time and imprint it into my mind, because as much as I may pray it will last, those teenage years will creep up on us before we know it. And while I'm sure there will be many more amazing moments to cherish even after that time, we have been given a preview of some of the 'tude she'll inevitably adopt on occasion once her hormones kick in. I gotta warn ya, it sure doesn't look pretty.

[Mind you, none of these shots were coaxed or rehearsed, oy.]

I comfort myself with the thought that I've got another 7 or 8 years to figure out how the heck to approach dealing with the teenage version of our headstrong girl. I've no doubt we'll figure it out and have a whole lotta fun in the process. In the meantime, though, we'll just keep savoring those tutus and butterfly kisses.
