This particular chain holds great memories for both Norm and I when we were kids (on opposite sides of the country!). It disappeared from our local scene here back when I was in college I believe, but was thankfully resurrected about a year ago. Suffice it to say it is a very popular destination for birthday celebrations for both young and old. The volume in the place was absolutely deafening, with multiple parties occurring at once.
After 2 hours of my ears ringing, it was enough for this Mama to plead, "Calgon, take me away!"
Of course, the ginormous bowl filled with every flavor of ice cream and syrup under the sun (also known as "The Zoo") pumped up the energy level of the kids (not to mention a few grownups) even more.
So, while my ears are slowly recovering, Lauren had a terrific time with her dear friend Ava, and in the end, that's what really matters.
