Having an online connection with Melissa through our birth club for almost six years made our first meeting seem more like we were close friends who were reconnecting after time apart. There's always some amount of apprehension relating to meeting someone for the first time in real life, but it truly was for naught with her. I never felt any awkwardness or unease around her family.
The day after they arrived, we headed to Downtown Disney for a little lunch.
Racing towards the entrance.

We made it!

The primary purpose of our lunch was to have Grace experience Rainforest Cafe for the first time. Sweet girl is extra sensitive to loud noises so for her to be able to sit through a meal with all the cacophony at this type of restaurant was a tremendous accomplishment.
Watching the huge fish tanks at the entrance being cleaned (yes, that's a real person!).

After lunch, the girls performed their best model walks and poses.

In the few days the girls were able to spend some time together, they became fast and furious friends.
Making videos on our iMac.

Cuddling their Build A Bears.

Not to mention sharing bedtime stories.

I let Lauren stay home from school on one of the days they were here and accompany Grace and family to Laguna Beach. It was a picture perfect day and they had an absolute blast. They had to leave the next day, and Lauren cried. She begged me to let Grace live with us. I asked her why and she said "Because she's just like me!"

I was so thankful to get to meet Melissa and her beautiful family. She said it was the best vacation they ever had, and I love that we may have even played some small part in that.
Until next time.
