Oldie but Goodie

With all of the technological gadgets out there for kids, sometimes it's the simplest toys going back to our childhoods that are by far, the most fun.

Case in point:

Yes, it's a good old Sit 'N Spin. I can't even estimate the number of hours of entertainment (and wipeouts) this beauty has brought us since Lauren received it as a Hanukkah gift from awesome pool guy Jim two years ago. It occupied her early this morning for over 30 minutes while the challah french toast and turkey bacon was a'cookin. It makes me dizzy just to watch her on it. But she's in heaven, her squeals of happiness piercing the air above the blaring tinny music (which, to me, sounds suspiciously like elevator Musak on speed).

She's quickly outgrowing it, her gangly legs edging closer and closer to the ground while she whirls around, her equilibrium precariously balanced so as not to tip it over (which has already happened more times than I can count). I'll be so sad when we need to retire this toy. But hopefully, something just as simple and nostalgic will replace it as her new favorite.
