Just One Look

How do children learn to perfect the art of getting what they want with just a look? I like to think that we have established boundaries with Lauren so she is growing up with proper morals and a sweet disposition (although admittedly, the sweetness has oozed out of her since birth so I don't know that we can really take much credit for that).

But sometimes, every so often, she looks at us with such pure innocence, wonder, and love, pleading so convincingly with her eyes (this child has even been known to bat her eyelashes, sigh), that we just can't say no.

Case in point:

Photobucket

Might it help to tell you that this look preceded her very first cup of hot cocoa with marshmallows by about 5 minutes? It was a rainy, lazy Saturday afternoon, after all. And well worth the sugar rush, I tell you.
