Lauren has been taking dance since she was about 18 months old. She absolutely loves her teacher Miss Kelly, and actually enjoys putting on her ballet tights and leotard (unlike her Mommy, who quit ballet at age 5 because she couldn't stand wearing constricting tights). While she also loves her dainty pink ballet shoes, one thing she has always yearned for is tap shoes. Every week she longingly stares into the dance studio next door to hers to catch a glimpse of the "tap girls", as she calls them. At Miss Kelly's studio, she can't take tap classes until she's 3. However, about a month ago, we wandered into another dance studio very close to our home where there's a combo tap and ballet class that is for ages 2 and 3. Lauren became so excited that of course we had to sign her right up. So now she takes ballet on Wednesdays with Miss Kelly, and tap/ballet on Saturday mornings with Miss Michaela. The bonus is that Mommy gets to go on Saturdays and watch her through the window. Here's a couple of shots of our tap girl as we headed out last Saturday:
